Photosession with Zoe!

My baby girl, Zoe.  I never thought I'd be one of "those people".  You know, the ones who say they have 2 kids and they are referring to their dogs.  Well I can totally relate now that I have a dog.  Dogs have their own personalities just like people.  The bond between an owner and their dog is amazing and so rewarding.

So here's a brief story on how I came to owning a dog.
It's thanks to my sister and my husband and their love of dogs.  My sister got a cute little puppy in the last year+ and named her Tele.  Tele is the sweetest and smartest little pup I've ever met.  I just fell in love with her.  As for my husband's influence, anytime we find a roaming dog in the neighborhood we call the info on their tag and make sure it gets home.  We'd want the same for our dogs if they got lost.  So one Friday afternoon, we're on a walk in the neighborhood with Waux and we find a roaming dog.  She had no tag, no one was out looking for her and she didn't seem to recognize the area. After spending some time in the area we found her, we took her home with us.   The plan was to wait for flyers of a lost dog.  Flyers were up two days later and she was returned home safely.  She and Waux got along great and it was then we realized Waux needed a playmate.

Shortly after we started making a list and researching which types of breeds we'd want to adopt.  Once we had our list, we just keep checking back with various animal shelters waiting until they had one of the breeds we were looking for.  It happened to be we were in Claremore a few days before Christmas and there she was!  She looked like an alley dog, dirty, ungroomed, fleas and super long nails.  We played with her for a while and she was so friendly and sweet.  It was obvious she had been someone's dog but it was unknown why she was out wandering around; lost or abandoned.  The animal shelter in Claremore needed to keep her for a few more days to allow her previous owner to call and claim her if in fact she had become lost.  No one claimed her so we adopted her!  We made a list of potential names, much like you do with babies, and came up with Zoe.  She is just the friendliest and funniest dog.  She is so cute playing fetch with her toy cow.  She often hops around like a bunny instead of running.  She and Waux get a long great.  Oh, I wish I had a camera on me all the time to capture her silly and cute ways!  Here are some of my favorite images of Zoe!
