Photosession with Waux!

Waux is a friendly and hyperactive dog but not very obedient so it takes patience to get good pictures of him.  For those of you who have met Waux, you know what I mean.   To obtain good photos of Waux, I have to put Zoe in the house, wait around outside until he gets bored of me and finally sits or lays down.  Then I shoot away until he gets excited again because I'm moving around for different angles and gets up out of position.  Then the process starts again for a potential different background.  I wish I could tell him to sit and he sit, but it doesn't work that way.  Bob was really pleased with the pictures of bubs here!  I wanted to share the favorites!

Modeling is hard work!  Nap time!

Stay tuned for the photosession with Zoe!

blessings

I took this photograph yesterday on my drive back to Edmond from T-town.  A tree is a beautiful thing.  To me it represents the countless blessings God has given me in my life.  Whenever things aren't going as I think they should, I'm reminded of all the great blessings Christ has given me.  This blog is a highlight list of what HE has blessed me with.

HE gave me my husband, my family, my friends.  HE has always provided, HIS love for me has been unfailing and HE has performed a miracle when bringing my Grandpa back to life when the doctors said he was brain dead.  I have a roof over my head, food in the fridge, the internet to blog, a closet full of clothes, a car for transportation.  I have wonderful people in my life like my husband who demonstrates daily so many admirable qualities that encourage and challenge me to be a better person.  He's hard-working, dedicated, genuine, and funny.  I love that man and can't wait for what our future together holds.  I have my parents who have continuously supported me through the ups and down and who I know I can always count on.  Living in Tulsa for five years after college helped develop my relationship with them on a much deeper level and I appreciate both of them and the role they have served as parents now more than ever.  I have my sister who is an amazing woman.  Incredibly talented, hard-working, smart, goofy, beautiful and so many more awesome traits.  I admire her so much.  I'm also blessed to have an awesome (very soon to be) brother-in-law.  He makes my sister happy and that makes my heart happy!

God has given me such an amazing extended family.  We are fortunate to get together with my mom's side and dad's side each at least twice a year.  Both sides of the family are filled with incredible individuals.  I've also recently been blessed by marriage to get wonderful and supportive in-laws and their families.  I'm looking forward to sharing old and creating new traditions.

God has also given me amazing friends.  Moving to Edmond, I'm finally closer to my best friends who have been living in OKC while I in Tulsa for the past 5 years.  We're now able to carry on conversation during a long walk, over dinner, or running errands together.  If we've had a bad day, we can now meet up and share our frustrations and challenges over happy hour at Sonic or during a very fast paced walk.  I've also made new friends through my best friends, my husband, and church and I can't wait for lots of memories to be made!

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is the Lord. He is like a tree planted beside waters, that stretches out its roots to the stream. It fears not the heat when it comes, its leaves stay green. In the year of  drought it shows no distress, but still bears fruit".

love the one you're with.... I sure do!

Valentines Day 2011.... a good time to share about how much you love those special people in your life, especially your significant other.  For me, this is my husband.  I'm blessed beyond measure to have a loving, caring, thoughtful, intelligent, genuine, hard working and good looking husband.  Basically, he is awesome.  I love you Bob.  Thank you for bringing so much joy and laughter into my life.  I can't wait to do life together and grow old with you.  We've got so many memories to make and I can't wait!  I love you with my whole heart.  Love, Lindsey

I also want to share a few images from my 2010 Valentine's project.  I blogged about it last V-day but since I've got this new blog address, I'll share again!

All You Need Is Love....and that is what inspired this project!
Ok, I go through post-its like craaaaazy at work.  So, I took that idea and went BIG.  It took me hours to get this backdrop ready but accompanied by lots of love, smiling, and music!  I created a scaled map on an 8.5 x 11 and used it to guide me.  Yep, I'm the daughter of an engineer.  My father would be proud of my preparation!  With this grand post-it idea for the lovely Valentines holiday, I also wanted to be the subject and improve my skills in self-portraiture in some of the shots.  It took a vase, step ladder, broom and manual focus lens setting to get the focus of the picture exactly where I wanted it.  It was quite an experience but I had the music blaring to some great tunes, ran back and forth between "subject" and "photographer" and laughed at myself a lot.  It's not an easy task but I learned some techniques and improved my self-portraiture skills!

I married my Valentine, November 20, 2010!  Love you B!

Our Pups

Just a little background on our dogs!  Remember, this is Day #2 of being couped up in the house due to the snow.  TV, laundry, and dishes can only keep you busy for so long.

 ABOUT ZOE
We adopted this little girl in December 2010, just a few days before Christmas!  The vet thinks she's between 13-15 months old.  We're not exactly sure what mix she is.  She's all white, soft hair, floppy ears, long tail, longer snout.....a mix of Westie, Maltese, Russell Terrier....eh we don't care.  She's cute, sweet and very sociable.  She loves to play with her brother in the backyard and is often the instigator of their wrestling.  She doesn't bark in the house but if she hears noises in the neighbors yard when she is outside, she yaps and yaps.  Zoe thinks she is super tough.    We love her!

ABOUT WAUXONPAUS
This is our Native American dog, Wauxonpaus. "Walks On Paws".  Bob adopted this big boy back in February 2009 and he's turning 2 this month!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBA!  When I married Bob, I got a dog too.  I started to learn all about the responsibilities of dog ownership.  I had a cat growing up and we all know they roam about and do their own thing. Plus, my dad made sure the cats had food and water.  Waux is a Lab / Great Pyrenees mix.   Big dog but very loving.  He doesn't know boundaries with people or other dogs.  Since he wasn't raised around other dogs, he doesn't know a stranger.  He doesn't quite pick up on the social cues of other dogs, esp. of unfriendly dogs.  He thinks they all want to play.  The only tricks he knows is "sit" and "shake".  They go hand in hand and he will only respond if he see's a treat in your hand.  Actually, the moment he see's a treat, he sits and shakes.  No commands necessary!  He's really good with Zoe and understands his size to hers.  They are best friends and it's been so good for him to have a playmate!

blizzard 2011

We're couped in the house so I thought it would be a good day for some blogging!  Oh my Oklahoma!  74 degrees on Friday and then we're snowed in a few days later!  So crazy but I sure love our state.  The dogs are thoroughly enjoying the snow!  Our big dog Waux loves the snow.  He ran around the backyard forever.  It took a little persuasion to get little Zoe out in the snow but once she got used to it, she was all over the place!  Bob suited up in his carhartt and played with the pups.  He even got out and shoveled the pathways and the driveway.  He's a stud!  I personally didn't spend a lot of time outside because is freezing out there!  One of us had to hold down the fort (inside!).  Well I hope you're keeping warm and enjoy a few photos!
